There is a big difference between the story you tell at trial, and the record. Consider how much of your story will come through by the time an appellate judge reads it.
Appellate work is like archaeology: we can only dig up what you leave behind.
Why hire an appellate attorney—who knows the case better than the trial attorney? True, no one else knows the case like the trial attorney. And no one ever will.
On appeal, we don’t have the same dramatic tools you have at trial. It’s like reading a play compared to watching it. You only have one chance with these persuasive trial tools, so use it wisely!
