Job Summary
Senior California appellate litigator position is available in a growing appellate litigation firm. Kowal Law Group, APC is looking for an ‘attack librarian’ with experience developing creative solutions in trial and appellate courts in California and the 9th Circuit. In addition to the ability to oversee our large appellate case load and manage work flows, ideal candidates will have:
- Eagerness to take tough cases and develop and present arguments to unfriendly judges.
- Ability to translate dense legalese to normal-speak.
- Appreciation of sci-fi and fantasy genres; bonus if your favorite movie is A Man for All Seasons.
We represent provocative positions, so strong ideological precommitments discouraged: in selecting cases and causes our only ideology is anti-ideology: nullius in verba—”take no one’s word for it.”
Responsibilities- Develop and present compelling arguments in trial and appellate courts
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, persuasive written and oral communications
Qualifications- Demonstrated ability to think critically and adapt to various legal challenges
- Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to take on difficult cases and present arguments to potentially unsympathetic judges
